Engagements and Anzacs

Wow, busy weekend... it is the end of Anzac day long weekend and I am tired. On Friday I woke up and thought to myself "how good is this country that my parents brought me into? You get to have a long weekend to celebrate an fantastic biscuit!" I said as much to Dad and he explained that Anzac day is actually a day of remembrance, where Australians remember the sacrifice of our soldiers in World War 1 and all wars since then. That is a lot for a little bloke like me to take in, but Dad seemed serious so I'll believe him, the biscuits are nice though...

Anyway we had guests at our place on Saturday afternoon, Peter, Sally and Hayden from Launceston came to visit. Apparently Dad used to work for Peter and Sally when him and mum lived near a dark and scary place called "Mowbray", from what Dad described he was some kind of secretary or something. Below is a picture of me meeting Sally and Peter, they were a nice bunch and gave me a beautiful plaque for my wall, as soon as Dad gets finger out and mounts it I'll put a pic up here.

On saturday I also got to go and visit Daddy's parents house. I was able to show off my new coat (from Nanny Luttrell) to Grandma Young and have a cuddle. Grandma was pretty busy getting ready for my Aunty Loretta's engagement party, but she still spent the time giving me a cuddle.

When Grandma had to go back to preparing I had a chat to my Aunty Anna on the coach, Daddy said that Aunty Anna is his youngest sister, she looked pretty damn old to me though!

On my request Dad experimented with the video function on his camera and I have uploaded a video of my conversation with Anna from his camera here, hopefully it comes out OK.

I also met Uncle Calum's friend Sam, she was friendly, but despite myself I am still not that good with strangers...

Now onto Sunday, this is the day of Aunty Loretta's engagement party, it was a pretty big party and I met lots of nice people. It was actually my first party, well at least my first where I wasn't in utero, Mum did have a baby shower. I didn't really enjoy that though, as they tend to be chick affairs anyway, but I digress...

Poppy Tom showed the finished product of the crane that he has built when we arrived for the party, it is pretty cool. He gave me a demo by lifting the back of his father's old Morris Commercial Truck, very strong, he explained how it is powered by 2 electric winches, one using a 2 - 1 mechanical advantage and the other using 3 - 1, nice work Poppy Tom!

I had a bit of a rest with Mum and Dad's friend Jill once we got into the party.

And also met Great Uncle Dennis, who is Daddy's Uncle.

This picture was when i was cuddling Auntie Grace, right before I pooed myself (my bad) and of course as Daddy said, whoever is holding me at the time that I go has to change my nappy... a good rule in his estimation! Anyway Aunty Grace is learning to be a nurse, so it won't be long before she has to change lots of different adults nappy's so she should be grateful I am small!

And last, but not least, me and Daddy relaxing after we got home from the party, we were pretty tired and both needed a breather so we kicked it on the recliner together. You know from this angle Dad's grey beard hairs are a lot more obvious...

Anyways I am tired and I need to get some sleep, so I am outa here, have fun...

Bye Bye

Good Night Everyone

Paddy
